Meet Dr. Wolsefer

Brandie Wolsefer, Ed.D., MBA, has never believed that purpose has to follow a straight line.

Her professional journey began in finance, where she developed an early foundation in business, operations, strategy, financial analysis, and client relationships. Over time, however, her path led her into education—a shift that would become one of the defining chapters of her life.

What began in the classroom grew into nearly two decades of work spanning special education, educational diagnostics, district leadership, research, professional development, behavior programming, data analysis, and systems-level improvement. Along the way, Dr. Wolsefer discovered that some of her greatest strengths existed at the intersection of the two worlds she knew best: business and education.

Today, she brings those worlds together as an educator, researcher, AI evaluator, author, entrepreneur, and founder building organizations, technologies, and resources designed to solve real problems and create meaningful opportunities.

Research remains a central part of Dr. Wolsefer's work. Her doctoral research examined the relationship between special education placement and academic outcomes, building upon years of experience working directly with students, educators, and school systems. Her academic and professional research has included quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods methodologies, statistical analysis, predictive analytics, program evaluation, and the use of data to support organizational and educational decision-making.

Her scholarship and professional writing focus on special education, inclusion, academic outcomes, behavior, educational systems, and the translation of research into practical strategies that educators and organizations can actually use.

Dr. Wolsefer's work has also expanded into artificial intelligence, applied research, and AI evaluation. She has contributed to complex AI-focused projects involving model response assessment, rubric development, instruction-following evaluation, document-based research, evidence verification, and the identification of accuracy, reasoning, compliance, and formatting failures across highly technical tasks.

Her AI evaluation work has included projects involving financial analysis, operational reconciliation, clinical oversight, policy and compliance review, data-intensive research, and large collections of source documents where conclusions must be accurate, measurable, and traceable to evidence. She is particularly interested in how artificial intelligence can be responsibly evaluated and integrated into education, business, research, assessment, and organizational decision-making while maintaining strong standards for accuracy, ethics, transparency, and human judgment.

Dr. Wolsefer is the co-founder of Bayou Education Partners Group, an education and consulting company created with Dr. Kelly Pizani to help schools and educators turn research, data, and evidence-based practices into systems that are practical, sustainable, and usable in real classrooms.

Bayou Education Partners Group focuses on strengthening instruction, intervention, professional development, and organizational systems through tools and approaches designed around the realities educators face every day. Their work is rooted in the belief that meaningful improvement happens when research is translated into clear processes that teachers, leaders, and students can actually use.

At the center of their work is the Connected Writing Framework™, a structured approach developed to make writing instruction more explicit, consistent, and accessible across grade levels, content areas, and learning needs.

The framework guides students through five connected stages—Hear It, Think It, Say It, Write It, and Read It—helping strengthen the relationship between oral language, thinking, organization, written expression, and reflection. Rather than functioning as a stand-alone curriculum, the Connected Writing Framework™ is designed to work alongside existing curriculum and instructional materials, giving educators a repeatable process they can use to support students in becoming more confident and capable writers.

Dr. Wolsefer and Dr. Pizani are also the authors of The Connected Writing Framework™: A Practical, Step-by-Step Approach to Helping Students Become Confident, Capable Writers, which translates the framework into practical strategies educators can implement across classrooms and instructional settings.

Their work extends beyond publishing into professional development, educator resources, school and district support, intervention systems, coaching, and the continued development of digital tools designed to support implementation, progress monitoring, fidelity, and instructional decision-making.

Bayou Education Partners Group also represents an important intersection of Dr. Wolsefer's work in education, research, entrepreneurship, data, and emerging technology. As the organization continues to grow, she is exploring ways artificial intelligence and digital systems can help educators analyze information, support instructional planning, strengthen writing development, and reduce unnecessary complexity while keeping professional judgment and the needs of students at the center of the work.

Dr. Wolsefer's commitment to individuals with disabilities extends beyond the classroom through Limitless Horizons, a nonprofit being developed to create meaningful opportunities for adults with disabilities through community participation, life-skills development, independence, recreation, relationships, and employment.

The vision behind Limitless Horizons grew from years of working with individuals with disabilities and recognizing that meaningful support should not end when students leave the school system. The organization is being built around dignity, inclusion, empowerment, community, and the belief that every individual deserves opportunities to continue learning, contributing, connecting, and building independence throughout adulthood.

Dr. Wolsefer is the founder and Executive Director.

Alongside her husband, Ray Wolsefer Jr., Dr. Wolsefer is building Blood River Patriots, a family-owned Louisiana business rooted in faith, family, freedom, and responsible firearm ownership.

Their work spans firearms and accessories, gun shows and retail, gunsmithing, firearms education and classes, practical training resources, publishing, and the continued development of boutique ammunition manufacturing.

Together, they combine business, education, technical knowledge, and hands-on experience to develop resources and services for individuals who value preparedness, safety, responsible ownership, and informed decision-making.

They are also the authors of Choosing Self-Defense Ammunition: A Practical Guide to Understanding, Selecting, and Using Defensive Cartridges.

Dr. Wolsefer is also the founder of Bayou Mercantile, a Louisiana-inspired lifestyle brand celebrating Southern culture, family, faith, humor, and hometown pride.

The brand reflects another side of her entrepreneurial work—one centered on creativity, community, and the traditions and personality of Louisiana life.

Writing connects every chapter of Dr. Wolsefer's professional and personal journey.

From academic research and educational frameworks to business resources, practical guides, faith, and personal growth, she writes from lived experience and a desire to turn what she has learned into something that can serve others.

Her writing also reflects one of the most personal parts of her journey—her faith.

Her devotional, What Do I Do Next? A Journey from Anxiety to Peace Through God's Word, grew from seasons in her own life marked by fear, uncertainty, health challenges, and the struggle to surrender control.

Rather than writing from a place of having every answer, she shares what it looks like to continue moving forward when the next step is not always clear. The 21-day devotional was created for readers navigating anxiety, uncertainty, change, fear, or seasons when they simply find themselves asking, "What do I do next?"

Through those experiences, Dr. Wolsefer learned that some of the most meaningful work can emerge from the very seasons we would never have chosen for ourselves.

Her journey has taught her that purpose rarely unfolds exactly as planned.
